about us!

I was born in Washington State (Go Seahawks!) and my family moved to Oregon when I was little. We started out in southern Oregon but we've been based in the Willamette Valley since 2007. I've had a passion for the arts and the outdoors ever since I could hold a crayon or run around our backyard barefoot in the summertime, and devoured books voraciously as a kid. (I still go a little crazy at the library and usually bring home way more books than I could possibly manage to read at once.) But the travel bug didn't truly hit me until my aunt and uncle took me on a road trip to the Southwest when I was 14, and since then, I'm constantly reaching for new places to explore.

After having the opportunity to travel to the East Coast, Canada, back to the southwest several times, and even overseas to Taiwan, I met my husband Philip in 2018, immediately developed a huge crush on him, and we got married in February 2020 - right before the pandemic hit! Everyone constantly tells us that it was the best party they went to because it was the last party they went to, lol. We adopted a Siamese-Bengal mix kitten that we named Clara (after the Doctor Who companion) six months later. She is currently an adventure cat-in-training!

Philip works remotely as a full stack software engineer for an educational tech start-up, which allows me to dedicate time to my photography and pursuing a degree in education and linguistics. In my free time, I love to paint, write (I'm currently working on my third novel, a alternate history fiction about the Black Death in the 14th century), and plan future adventures! The three of us live in a 125-year-old craftsman bungalow with huge living room windows that face the sun in the late afternoon - it's my favorite time of day.
