frequently asked questions

how long have you been a photographer?

My first wedding shoot was nearly a decade ago! A good friend of mine was getting married and the night before the wedding, the groom handed me his camera and told me that since they didn’t have their photographer for the whole day, would I mind taking some getting-ready photos for the bride? I was happy to oblige and instantly got hooked on the rush of wedding photography! Since then, I began working weddings on a friends and family referral basis, and two years ago I was able to make it my full-time career - finally, my dream job!

what's your photography style?

My style can be described as cinematic, candid, and true to life! My hybrid storytelling approach to photography includes authentic candid coverage of your ceremony and reception, and posed portraits of your family and bridal party portraits. And during your couples’ session, instead of “posing” you, I’ll give you action prompts so that you have fun and look natural in your photos. When it comes to editing, I keep things as true to color as possible, so that our natural PNW scenery shines in the background, and I always add a bit of extra pop so that everything looks just a little more glowy and dramatic.

do you offer video?

I partner with a videographer that is also based in the Willamette Valley! Check out his work here. But if you’re just looking for some simple footage of your wedding day without the extra price tag, I always take lots of short behind-the-scenes video clips on my iPhone. I’m happy to share those with you at your request!

do you have a favorite location for photoshoots?

I love the West and will travel anywhere for good photos! Big road trip fan here 👋🏻 But out of all the places I’ve done photoshoots, the Oregon coast at sunset is a tried and true favorite. The golden light that hits in the evenings between the months of October-March is unsurpassed by any other golden hour I’ve seen. And yes, it’s very windy, but if you’ve got sun, it will make your portraits have the most windswept, breathless, cinematic and romantic vibe ever!

do you charge travel fees?

I live in Corvallis, Oregon, and anywhere within a 100-mile radius is free of travel charges! Past that, I do add light travel fees to cover the cost of my gas and hotel if I need to stay overnight, which is usually the case if you book all-day wedding coverage. I’ve included some popular locations below!

Travel Fees:
Seattle/Tacoma: $100-350
Bend/Central Oregon: $50-300
Eastern Washington/Eastern Oregon: $100-250
Medford/Southern Oregon: $80-330
Sacramento/Napa/Bay Area: $250-600

what if there’s an emergency and you can’t make it to our wedding?

The photographer community is an incredibly tight-knit one, so not only do I have a backup shooter, I have connections in multiple groups of photographers who are similar to me in price and style. And in the years I’ve been covering weddings, I have only ever had to cancel once due to a major personal crisis that happened the night before a job, and I got to put my emergency plan into action: I immediately called my associate shooter to see if she was available, then called the bride and gave her the details of what was happening. I gave her my associate photographer’s information, got them connected, and her wedding went off without a hitch. About a week later, I met up with my associate, got the photos (which were AMAZING, by the way), paid her for her time, edited them in my style, and sent the gallery off!

before I reach out, can I know the nitty-gritty details?

I know how expensive weddings can be, so I’ve arranged my package prices and payment structures to give you peace of mind! We’ll schedule a free consultation, then once I send you the contract, you have a week to pay a retainer of 30%. After that, you can pay the remaining amount at your own convenience up to 30 days before your wedding day! After your wedding day, I’ll do my best to send you some sneak peeks in about 2-3 days, then your full gallery will be delivered in another 8-12 weeks.
